Description

Capping B Solution – Acetonitrile : 2,6-Lutidine : N-Methylimidazole (50:30:20 v/v/v)

This Capping B reagent is a ready-to-use solution of acetonitrile, 2,6-lutidine, and N-methylimidazole, precisely mixed in a 50:30:20 volume ratio. It is formulated for use in the capping step of solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, where it serves as an activator for acetic anhydride (Capping Reagent A).

  • Composition: Acetonitrile : 2,6-lutidine : N-methylimidazole (50:30:20 v/v/v)

  • Function: Activates acetic anhydride for 5’-OH acetylation

  • Application: Capping B solution for DNA/RNA synthesis

  • Instrument Compatibility: Suitable for manual and automated synthesizers

  • Formulation: Ready-to-use

This formulation provides a balanced mix of steric and nucleophilic components, making it widely compatible across oligonucleotide synthesis protocols. It is designed for high performance in both small-scale research and commercial oligo manufacturing environments.
