Truenat® Trich, PCR test for Trichomonas vaginalis

Truenat® Trich is a chip-based Real Time PCR Test for Trichomonas vaginalis (semi-quantitative) in female endocervical and vaginal swab specimens, male urethral swab specimen and male and female urine specimen and aids in the diagnosis of symptomatic or asymptomatic infection with Trichomonas vaginalis.

Trichomonas vaginalis, a protozoan parasite causing trichomoniasis, is a common non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) worldwide. While many infections are asymptomatic, untreated trichomoniasis can lead to complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women and increased susceptibility to HIV. A treatable and curable condition, regular screening in sexually active individuals is important to prevent transmission and health complications.
