X-Gal Substrate

50.00

High-purity chromogenic substrate for β-galactosidase detection and blue/white screening (lacZ reporter assays).

Solid X-Gal (powder form) offers superior stability, flexibility, and cost efficiency compared with ready-made solutions. When stored dry, protected from light and moisture, it remains stable for years.

The powder format provides longer shelf life, greater experimental flexibility, and better value, making it the preferred choice for routine blue–white screening and reporter gene assays.

Description

X-Gal Substrate

High-purity chromogenic substrate for β-galactosidase detection and blue/white screening.

X-Gal substrate (5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-β-D-galactopyranoside) is a high-purity chromogenic substrate used for detecting β-galactosidase activity. When cleaved by the enzyme, it produces an insoluble blue precipitate, enabling blue/white screening of recombinant clones and β-galactosidase reporter (lacZ) assays.

With purity >99% confirmed by HPLC, this reagent ensures reliable performance in cloning, immunological, and histochemical applications. Supplied in powder format, it is soluble in DMF and stable under recommended storage conditions.

Advantages & Features
  • High purity: >99% by HPLC.
  • Reliable: single spot by TLC, <1% water content.
  • Proven performance in cloning and enzymatic assays.
  • Powder format: stable and soluble in DMF.
  • Versatile: molecular biology, immunology, and histology.
