Co-NTA IMAC Resin

Zetarose Co-NTA FF6 is a 6 % cross-linked beaded agarose resin, derivatized with charged cobalt metal ion (Co²⁺) nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) ligand. The solid phase can be used to purify recombinant proteins containing polyhistidine (6xHis) residues via their selective affinity to the chelated cobalt. After washing, bound proteins are eluted under native or denaturing conditions with either a low pH buffer or with buffer containing imidazole or histidine.

This Co-NTA IMAC resin is used for purification of His-tagged proteins where higher specificity is required compared to Ni-NTA. It gives:

• much cleaner elution
• lower background binding

Co-NTA does tend to have a lower binding capacity than Ni-NTA, so tends to be used when purity matters more than yield.
